Site News : Luxury Pushers,Lorian Skum,Glitter Trash Live in Toledo

Site News The third installment of our" Get off The Couch Concert Series" GPR Productions brings you .......
The Luxury Pushers are a punishing, double-barrel sonic swagger and a post-trash, ugly-pretty aesthetic. They pack a smart-ass sneer that's never smug; taking the immediate, snot-rocket earnest of the American punk tradition and dragging its proud-but-winded ass into the 21st century. The Punks think they're a Rock and Roll band, the rockers think they're Punk and it's all just splitting hairs .How many times are you going get a chance to see a band nominated for an AVN award??
Lorian Skum,,, these long time Cleveland area Punk vets bring thier over the top music and twisted sense of humor to the stage for the 1st time .
Glitter Trash is also making its Toledo debut, think Jerry Springer holding court in a trailer park with Hank Williams Jr and the Sex Pistols providing the sound track..

Site News : 2009 Boni Awards

Site News It's that time of year again... out with the old and in with the new. It's been a rough year for just about all of us, thank goodness for the escape music give us all. The following bands, entertainers, and pinups represent my personal picks for best of 2009. You may not agree, and that's fine. By all means, please post your own. I love hearing and seeing bands I have not heard before.

Site News : 2008 Boni Awards

Site News I should title my "awards" as music I really dig this year and you should too if you care awards. Thats really all it is. Its a snapshot of the bands, personalities and shows that really stuck out for me in the past year, nothing more. Its not a popularity contest and certainly does not reflect anyone else's opinions but my own.

Site News : Hanoi Rocks-Take this Fan and Shove it!!!

Site News I was use to waiting as a kid. I believed when my parents told me "good things come to those who wait". As a teenager I spent a few years waiting for number of things... musical talent, getting laid, graduation and seeing Hanoi Rocks live.... Thanks to Vince Neil that didnt happen. Not that I could really blame it all on Vince, but the boys just couldn't hang together after that.

Word has it New York’s now closed Home of Underground Music, CBGB’s will be purchased by an as of now unnamed famous designer. Plans call for the walls to remain intact as they were when it was a veritable punk rock mecca. These plans have enraged some punks and New Yorkers as well as those who are concerned about the sites historical value.
If you would like to get involved follow the link below and sign the petition.

We petition it not to be torn down, but to be claimed as a landmark.

Site News News about 2007 Boni award winners-
Now 2008 brings good news also. The Boni award winner for best record of 2007 was the Black Knots - Hell Bent to Kick it Out. They hail from Huntington West Virginia. Not exactly a place you think of breeding hard ass punk /rock n roll bands but that exactly what they are. No frills, stripped down shit kicking ROCK ala MC5 with out the politics. Anyway, they are not only working on a follow up album to Hell Bent to Kick It Out but will be hitting the road all over this summer. Detroit will get a chance to see these crazy fukkers at the Belmont on May 17th playing with the mighty American Speedway. Catch both these bands before you have to pay $20.00 a ticket to see them at the State in a couple of years. www.myspace.com/blackknots www.myspace.com/americanspeedway

This writer has full permission and he was sober when he gave it me to tell you all that Detroit's own Almighty Lumberjacks of Death are working on new material. Logistics make the process slower than all would probably like but its coming. No word on future release dates, or shows yet so stay tuned, when we know you will.
